Scripty needs a few relatively basic permissions to function.

| Change Nickname | For planned features: see our roadmap for more info NOTE: Scripty will soon be unable to work without this permission! |
| Manage Webhooks | Scripty uses webhooks to output the results of transcriptions, in large part due to hooks having a lower ratelimit than normal messages. This cannot be disabled. |

| Send Messages | okay if you need to know why stop here and close this tab |
| Manage Messages | For planned features: see our roadmap for more info |
| Embed Links | Scripty primarily communicates via embeds. |
| Attach Files | For planned features: see our roadmap for more info |
| Read Message History | For planned features: see our roadmap for more info |
| Use External Emojis | Not currently needed, asked for in case a future feature needs it. |
| Add Reactions | Not currently needed, asked for in case a future feature needs it. |
| Connect | The bot cannot transcript audio if it cannot connect to the VC a user is in. |
